This word is useful for when you are writing about issues and problems and disagreements. It is close in meaning to basic.

Forms of the word

fundamental: the adjective

fundamentals: a countable noun used in the plural

fundamentally: the adverb

Using the word

point/issue/question: The fundamental issue that needs to be addressed is whether women should be allowed to serve in the armed forces.

change/difference: There has been a fundamental change to our attitudes to recycling in the last 20 years.

principle: The fundamental principle is that every child has the right to education.

mistake/error/weakness: A fundamental weakness in this argument is that many women actually prefer to stay at home and look after their families and have no wish to return to the workplace.

    Thank you for post talking about a television programme.
    I have problem with expressing ideas in speaking and speak very quick also. this give some ideas to me how to manage.
