Today’s word from the academic word list is



  • An extremely useful verb/noun that is used in many phrases.
  • In academic terms, you may need credits on your course in order to graduate
  • You may earn credit or deserve it for work you have done, or give someone credit for something they have done
  • A useful phrase for discussing advantages is on the credit side,
  • It is also quite commonly used as a synonym for believe
