I’m back – sort of.
An apology and an excuse
If you have been waiting for updates to the site I do apologise. I have been taking some time out from all things online – including emails I’m afraid – to give myself time to learn how to become a full-time dad. I’m a slow learner and it’s taken almost a whole year to get things sorted – though I suspect my daughter thinks that I still have a long way to go.
Expect updates soon
In the next month or so I will be beginning to produce new – and I hope better – material for the site. Except for one or two items though, this is unlikely to happen immediately. I first need to sort out some problems: for a start all the sound files have sadly gone missing and I also want to make the site easier to navigate. Then there are are a whole lot of mails and comments I need to sort through.
What can you expect?
I will of course be trying to help you out with new practice materials and ideas, but my real goal is to add lots more language and specifically language in context for all 4 skills.
The other main addition will be to try and add an IELTS help function that is more easily accessible. There is already a lot of this on the site but it is often hard to find as the advice comes in my replies to comments or the emails I receive. It would be much better if this was easier to find.
Many more links to good places to improve your language and exam skills and that includes teachers who can show you the way. Some of this will happen on my Facebook blog, which I am also re-activating. In many ways FB – as the ultimate social medium – is the best way to share quick ideas and resources.
Do you have questions that need answered?
Do let me know if you have a specific problem that you think I can help you with. All you need to do is contact me via a comment and I’ll try and help out. This is the IELTS help function I mentioned earlier. The more specific the question, the more likely I am to be able to help out. General questions such as “How can I get band 7.0 in writing?” are almost unanswerable.
What happens if I don’t get any updates?
This could well happen! Here are some possible reasons:
- My screen time nowadays is very limited
- A chickenpox epidemic
- I’m busy learning how to iron the fitted sheets
- The terrible twos
- I’ve been sent on a cookery course by my family
- The dog ate my laptop
- I’m still trying to delete all references on the site to how I post daily lessons
