One of the most common tasks in IELTS speaking is to explain what you like or dislike. When you are preparing for the exam, it is sensible to learn how to talk about this in different ways. The big mistake is to continue to just use the word “like”.
Some basic variations
Here are some basic variations for you to consider:

- You should note the different prepositions that follow “keen”, interested”, “fascinated” and ‘dream”
- Be careful with “I like” and “I’d like to”. I like is to talk about a habit, whereas I’d like is to talk about a future wish
