Essay coherence 2

This article has a downloadable tutorial on how to make your IELTS essays more coherent. At first sight it may look complex but in fact it need not be.     Dear Dominic,can you say”amount of refugees”? or “a number “of refugees?

      Interesting. A really good comment. Correctly “amount” is only used with countables and so you need “number”. However, “amount of refugees” is good informal English acccording to the Macmillan Dictionary. So, yes you are right “a number of” would have been better here.

    Thank you for your elaboration on this excellent introduction of writing skill. This is exactly many IELTS candidate searching for. The previous skill introduction on Coherence, Essay Coherence, really gives me good advise on connection between paragarphs.     It is my first time using this site and found it quite intreesting. This is what I really wanted. However, it was slightly difficult for me to know about this site. Please do something so many people will take benifit from it. You know that there lots of other sites which are distracting.
