This is a quick review exercise for this week’s words. I have selected them because they all have something in common – they can all be used to discuss research in some way. This is a good way to review your vocabulary to look for links between words.
You needn’t be too strict about how you categorise words. Indeed, sometimes it can help to be more flexible. The idea here is generally research. A good exercise to try is to see how you can group words by writing sentences or ideas. Here is what I might do
research involves analysis of data
you can take different approaches when you do research
it can be unwise to make too many assumptions!
research involves thinking about ideas and concepts
you do also need to be able to interpret the results of your research[iframe_loader type=’iframe’ width=’100%’ height=’600′ frameborder=’0′ src=’http://www.dcielts.com/wp-content/uploads/articulate_uploads/review_-_idea_words9/quiz.html’] More review exercises on the Academic Word List
