  • Link is commonly found both as a verb and a noun and has a less usual noun form linkage
  • It is a useful academic word as it helps you explain connections between different ideas – something that is central to academic writing
  • Between, to and with are common prepositions
  • Some common collocations are

establish/maintain/forge/sever links

strong/close/direct links

missing link

weakest link

  • The phrases missing link and weakest link are also worth knowing
