Today’s word from the academic word list is

comment

 

Notes

  • A useful noun/verb that you can use both in speaking and writing when giving opinions
  • The most common forms of the word are comment, commentator and commentary
  • The most common verb/noun combination is to make a comment, although you can also pass comment (not a comment), welcome comments or add a comment.
  • Comments can be brief, final or detailed
  • You are probably familiar with the phrase no comment

    What does the collocation “pass comment” mean?

      More or less the same as “make a comment”.
