I have added the reading and listening “mock” tests from the English Online section of the British Council China site to the exam practice materials. They are certainly well-produced and are high quality preparation materials. A word of warning, however. Neither the listening nor the reading tests are exactly in exam format and I suggest you should be very careful in using them as exam practice.
Why do I say this? It is often sensible to make a difference between preparation (when you are learning the skills) and exam practice (when you are testing your skills in exam conditions). Both are necessary but you need to be clear about what you are trying to do. If you only do exam practice, your skills may never improve; if you only prepare skills, you may not be ready for the timings in the exam.
As I say, these tests are much better seen as preparation than practice.
Listening tests
In the IELTS test you get 4 groups of 10 questions and there is a pause within each group of questions so you can read the questions. Here you up to 20 questions with no pauses. This is both different and harder.
Reading tests
In the IELTS test you get either 13 or 14 questions for each text. Here you normally get 10 questions. You should think carefully before the test as to how long you spend on any one question. Obviously, this will be different when there are only 10 questions.
